CRIS DESIGNATION FAQs
Will I get CEs for attending/studying online?
Each CRIS class has been approved for 7 general producer continuing education hours in NH, regardless of attendance method.
How does the self-study program work?
Each student who purchases a CRIS class for self-study will receive a voucher code to redeem on IRMI’s education platform, redemption instructions, and a blank class roster form. The class can be completed by students in any timeframe they wish, but to obtain continuing education credits, they must provide a completed, signed roster to our office once they have finished the class.
I’m done with my self-study course(s). Who do I send the completed roster form to?
Please email your completed roster form to cara@biginh.com.
How long do I have to finish the designation program?
You must complete the five core CRIS classes and pass their respective exams within 60 months of starting the program.
Do I need to pass the exam to obtain CEs?
You do not! Credits are given based on attendance, so any CRIS class can be taken simply for the continuing education hours. However, you do need to pass the exam if you want to earn the designation.
I took the course in person. How do I take the exam?
Each student who wishes to take the exam will be given an access code for the exam with redemption instructions.
What is the exam like? What happens if I fail?
The exam is taken online via IRMI’s education platform. It consists of 50 multiple choice questions and is open book. You can also take the exam as many times as needed, for free, until you obtain a passing score (70%).
Do I need to do anything to keep the designation active?
To remain CRIS certified, each designee must obtain 6 hours of IRMI approved continuing education every 12 months. All of the core classes are able to be used for designation renewal, and other options are available through IRMI directly: CRIS Renewal Course Catalog
